Evaluation Criteria (1-3) 3 is good 2 is okay 1 is bad | Detachable Trunk Hinge | Side Hinges | 1 Detachable Conventional Hinge + 1 Hinge with 2 Degrees of Operation |

Description | The trunk hinge would be detachable from the trunk panel side. Would require an additional accessory to hold and tilt the trunk panel after detaching. | Likely requires us to add new Chassis tubes or some analysis to investigate the need for additional mounting tubes. Trunk Prop would have to be repositioned (since it is no longer opening in the conventional direction). | The two hinges, together, would allow regular use of the trunk. Only one side is detachable to reduce the time of operation to get the trunk panel to tilt. The second hinge is yet an unknown mechanical mystery that would need to be designed. |
Development Time | 2 - Minimal change to trunk hinge; an accessory needs to be designed and manufactured for tilting feature | 1 - redesign of trunk hinge from scratch, modification to trunk latch, additional analysis for chassis tubes for mounting | 0 - All designs need to accommodate many facets of this option to be compatible with both conventional and sideways operation of trunk panel. |
Manufacturability | 3 - Minimal change to trunk hinge. The accessory is something we add on and not require modifying the rest of the assembly. | ||
